Think you are a student who is from Karnataka, you have to attend the state counseling to opt for the 85% of the seats which are allotted for the students of the same state.

And if you want to opt for a medical college in Maharastra, then you must attend the All India Counseling and apply through the 15% All India Quota.

MBBS Admission Fee Structure

It will be very confusing if I tell you about the MBBS fee structure in a basic way. So, I will be categorizing the fee structure for MBBS here as Government college, deemed college, private college, and abroad college fee structures.

Government Colleges

The fees in government college range from Rs.6,000 to Rs.60,000 per year depending on each state. But the best part is that you will be able to earn a monthly stipend during your 1 year of internship.

Deemed Universities

The fee structure for MBBS in deemed universities ranges from Rs.12 lakhs to Rs.40 lakhs per year depending on each college.

Private Colleges

The MBBS fees in private colleges start from Rs.11 lakhs per annum excluding hostel, food, and extra charges. In private, there are 2 different quotas:

  1. Management quota.
  2. NRI quota.

For NRI quota in MBBS, it ranges from Rs.20 lakhs to Rs.40 lakhs per annum depending on colleges and states.

Abroad Colleges

Around 37% of the MBBS aspirants from India migrate to other countries, as the fees are very low compared to the fees in India. If you are fine with migrating to any country, then you can easily get MBBS admission at Rs.20 lakhs for the total course including hostel, food, and other fees.

How to Choose the Best College?

Thousands of students don’t know how to choose a good medical college. Most of them go behind the fake marketing and rankings shown by colleges.

You might have seen a lot of ads claiming that India Today’s Ranking for college is No.1 and all, right?

It’s simple to understand, IndiaToday is an Indian magazine and they don’t have an academic or clinical criterion to rank any college. 😛

If you want to take MBBS admission to the best colleges, then you must keep in mind the following:

  1. Excellent patient exposure.
  2. The best faculties.
  3. Latest infrastructure and facilities like laboratory, diagnostic equipment, surgical instruments, etc.
  4. Affiliated to a recognized university.
  5. Recognized by the NMC – National Medical Commission.
  6. Hostel and food – Check whether the fees you are paying are worth the hostel and food. You have to stay for over 6 years and I would suggest you check whether it is worth it.
