Is Entrance Exam Comulsory for BSc Nursing Admission in Bangalore?

Please read this section properly, as this is something important you must know.

From the year 2021, most of the states in India apart from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh were taking nursing admission on the merit of NEET rank, 12th marks, or entrance exams conducted by each state authority.

At last, in 2023 it was made clear by the Indian Nursing Council, that admissions will be invalid if any college takes admissions directly. After several meetings by officials – at last Karnataka Examination Authority also conducted an exam through which admission was given to students.

But after the allotment was done for meritious students, the leftover seats were given for direct admission.

But that won’t be the scenario in 2024, as per the reports and my personal experience.

There are chances, that the KCET exam which will be conducted by the KEA will be made compulsory in 2024. And according to the score and merit the candidate will be allotted a seat in any college.

So, the admission procedures which I will be mentioning below will be based on the exam and counseling of the Karnataka Examination Authority.

Admission Procedure

There are 2 types of admissions – one is direct admission and the other is the procedure through exam and counseling.

As I told you earlier, the direct admission procedure for BSc nursing colleges in Bangalore simple. You can just contact me and I will help you with the application and admission process which can be done in a single day.

And if the examination and counseling procedure is made compulsory, then you can refer the procedure given below.

The major steps involved in the direct admission for nursing are:

  • Exam Application.
  • Qualifying Exam.
  • Registration for counseling.
  • Document Verification.
  • Online Counseling 3 Rounds.
  • Fee payment.
  • Admission confirmation.

This process is a bit time-consuming and the whole procedure will take a minimum of 15-20 days.

Step #1 – Exam Application

The candidate must fill out the exam application form from their official website.

There will be government examination fees which will range from Rs.500 to Rs.1500, which varies each year.

Step #2 – Qualifying the Exam

You must qualify for the exam conducted by KEA and a merit list will be released. The minimum qualification score can’t be predicted as it varies each year.

Step #3 – Counseling Registration

Now that the results are declared and you are qualified, you have to register for counseling. During the registration, you have to upload a few documents. I have provided the list of documents in the next section.

Step #4 – Document Verification

After the registration, the government authority might notify you to submit your documents for verification. They will be verifying the documents online or offline. You will be provided with a slip there your login details will be mentioned.

Step #5 – Online Counseling

Now starts the counseling, where you have to log in to the portal on given dates and choose the college of your choice.

This is the trickiest part, if you opt for the wrong college then you might not get the seat or might be allotted to a below-average college. You don’t have to worry, we have got your back covered in this process.

There will be 3 rounds of counseling, which will be conducted online. Once a seat has been allotted you can go for the next step.

Step #6 – Fee Payment

You have to now pay the first year’s fees after the seat has been allotted. After which you have to report to the college with the fee receipt for reporting.

Step #7 – Admission Confirmation

During reporting the college will ask you for fee receipts, document verification slips, and other documents. Once they verify they will confirm your admission and you will receive the admission order from the Government as well as the college.

These are the general steps involved in the BSc Nursing counseling procedures in Bangalore. There might be slight variations in the steps, as it completely depends on the counseling authority.
