But, I will be mentioning the colleges state-wise or city-wise too, depending on the demand from my readers.

I had visited hundreds of engineering colleges in India and what I understood is that – there is nothing called a top-ranked engineering college in terms of quality of education.

There are few colleges where computer engineering is good, but mechanical engineering is an average department. I would personally suggest you take proper guidance and do proper research before joining any engineering college in India.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

The eligibility criteria depend on the colleges you want to join. If you are looking to join the top engineering colleges like IIT or NIT, then you have to rank high in the JEE exams.

If you are looking to join any private engineering colleges, you can take direct admissions.

  • Qualify 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks with PCM.
  • The candidate must be passed from a recognized board.
  • The candidate must be at least 17 years of age.
  • The candidate must qualify entrance exam depending on the college.

Documents Required

The following documents are required to join any engineering college in India:

  1. 10th marks card.
  2. 10th pass certificate.
  3. 12th marks card.
  4. 12th pass certificates.
  5. Transfer Certificate.
  6. Migration certificate.
  7. Aadhar Card.
  8. Passport-size photos – 10.

Admission Procedure

The admission procedure for Engineering in India is easy. You have 3 options to join engineering colleges in India. They are:

  1. Through entrance exam – Merit.
  2. Through interviews.
  3. Direct admission through management quota.

Engineering College Fee Structure

The fees for each college differ, but still, I can give you a range of fee structures.

  • Government Colleges: The fees range from Rs.15,000 to Rs.80,000 depending on each state.
  • Private colleges: The fees for Engineering in private colleges range from Rs.80,000 to Rs.11 lakhs per annum depending on the branch and college.

These are just the tuition fees and if you are opting for a hostel, then you have to pay hostel and food extra.
