BAMS Admission in Karnataka

For admission to BAMS in Karnataka, there are some fundamentals you should know before applying for admission to any BAMS college. There are 3 quotas for BAMS admission in Karnataka or usually all over India: All India Quota, State Quota, and Management Quota.

I will break down the admission process for all the admission quotas in this section.

Before getting into the admission procedure, I’ll share the general seat distribution of colleges for BAMS:

All India Quota15%
State Quota25%
Management Quota60%

Note: This is a general seat distribution that is seen in almost every BAMS College in India. But I would suggest you go to the official website or contact our counselors to know the exact seat availability for the particular BAMS College you’re looking for.

Admission through Management Quota

There is a rumor for admission through Management Quota that you can get admission to BAMS without NEET. But that’s not true, NEET qualification is mandatory for BAMS admission through any quota which includes the Management Quota. The benefit of Management Quota will be that you can apply and get your seat confirmed before the counseling process starts.

The Admission Procedure is:

  • Visit the college, fill out the application form pay the application fee if necessary, and submit your necessary documents.
  • They will check your eligibility and your NEET scores.
  • Once the admission department agrees that you’re eligible for admission to their college, they will call you for further procedures.
  • Go to the college finish the remaining procedure and pay the first year’s fees.
  • Voila! Your admission is done.

Admission through State Quota

The State Quota Admission is only applicable to students with Karnataka Domicile. The non-Karnataka candidates will have to go through All India or Management Quota only.

The State Quota Admission is done through Karnataka Ayush Counseling conducted by the Government of Karnataka and AACCC.

The Admission Procedure is:

  • Visit the official website of Karnataka Ayush Counseling and Click for Registration.
  • Fill out the registration form with your personal details and upload the required documents online.
  • Once the authority verifies your documents, you will be taken to an online portal where you can do your option entry.
  • Select the college which you want to get into as your first choice. Be careful with the eligibility and preferences.
  • Then, Karnataka Ayush Counseling Authority will release the first provisional merit list, look for your name and the college you are allotted to.
  • If you’re satisfied with your seat allotment, download the seat allotment letter and report to the college in the given time.
  • Finish the remaining formalities and pay the first-year fees, and your admission will be done.

If you do not get allotted to your preferred college, you have two options, either wait for the next round of counseling or go through Management Quota. Anyways, we can help you to guide you through the whole process. You can contact us and get your doubts cleared at once.

Admission through All India Quota

Usually, the admission procedure for All India and State Quota is the same. The difference lies in the competition between them. State Quota is restricted to Karnataka Candidates only BAMS Admission in Karnataka whereas the All India Quota is open for candidates all over India. So, non-Karnataka candidates have no option but to register for All India Quota or go through the Management Quota.
