A.V. Samiti’s Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Bijapur, is a renowned institution in North Karnataka, established in 1955. The college offers the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) program. Additionally, it provides postgraduate programs, including unique courses like Ayur-Genomics and a Certificate Course in Herbomineral Drug Technology.

The 5.5-year BAMS program incorporates both academic and practical training. Applicants must have a science background with a minimum of 50% grades in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology to be admitted.

In addition, the college offers specialized postgraduate courses (M.D.) in a variety of specialties, including Dravyaguna, Rasa shastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana, Samhita & Siddahnta, Kayachikitsa, and Shalya tantra. Admission to postgraduate degree courses is based on the AIAPGET merit list, with students chosen through a rigorous process that includes an interview to determine their aptitude for advanced Ayurvedic studies.
