Established in 2009, Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences is a private college, situated in Chalakka, a quite rural area. This is the first medical college established by the Gurudeva Charitable Trust (GCT), founded by the philanthropic followers of Sree Narayana Guru, a great saint and social reformer from Kerala. The main objective of the college is to provide high quality medical education as well as healthcare that everyone can afford.
The students of this college have been delivering excellent results which reflects the high academic standards of the college. The students have been successful in securing top ranks in university examinations. Students from the college achieved top ranks in the Final MBBS exams of 2014, 2017, and 2018. The college also produced second toppers in the 2015 Second MBBS and 2020 First MBBS exams. In 2014, a student secured third place in the First MBBS exam. Notably, in 2016, three students earned the top three ranks in Anatomy across Kerala.
