Shri Dhanwantri Ayurvedic Medical College Mathura

The 200-seat Shri Dhanwantri Ayurvedic Medical College, Mathura boasts a well-established library with important amenities. It has a vast collection of literature for studying both the contemporary medical system and Ayurveda. In addition to newspapers, the library has enough magazines and journals to which it subscribes to prepare students adequately. Numerous literature in the areas of Ayurveda, modern medicine, medical journals, and other subjects like Unani, Siddha, etc. can be found in the college’s Central Library. 

Students from various departments can benefit greatly from the campus museums and laboratories. Five lecture halls for undergraduates and seven tutorial rooms for graduate students are available for use by various departments. They have ample space and are equipped with contemporary conveniences such as overhead projectors. Students dissect cadavers at the college’s large, well-ventilated dissection hall, which is connected to an embalming chamber, to get an understanding of human anatomy. There is also a facility for the appropriate preservation and storage of cadavers.

The college is home to the GMP-certified Ayurveda Hospital and Pharmacy, which conducts research and produces Ayurvedic medications. Both patients receiving care indoors and outside are given these medications. To impart knowledge about the various stages and methods of preparation of various Ayurvedic medicines to UG students and PG scholars, pharmacy is an essential part of the practical teaching, training, and demonstration process.

The Institute’s herbal garden covers a sizable plot of ground and is home to 260 uncommon species of medicinal plants. All professionals can benefit greatly from the herbal garden, but second-year Professional BAMS students in particular can find it extremely helpful as Dravya guna Vijnana is one of their main subjects. The design and upkeep of the garden are primarily the responsibility of the Department of DravyaGuna Vijnana.
