Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre Thiruvalla is an expansion and improvisation of the Pushpagiri Medical Society, which was established in 1992, a decade later in 2002. This college is one of the first private medical institutions in Kerala. Since its establishment, the college has been moving forward with the mission of improving the health of not only its community, but the state, the country and the world through science and technology.
The motivation behind setting up this institution was to generate high qualified human resources in the healthcare field and the college has been successfully doing so. The college is recognized by the Medical Council of India and is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences.
Courses Offered
The college offers undergraduate, postgraduate and superspeciality courses. MBBS is the undergraduate degree offered by the college. The duration of the course is four and a half years including one year of mandatory internship. The college has 100 seats for MBBS Courses.

Eligibility Criteria for UG (MBBS Course)
- You shall have passed the higher secondary examination or any other equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English as core subjects. Minimum percentile is 50%.
- You shall have passed the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test NEET UG Examination with a minimum of 50% percentile.

Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences campus has five lecture halls, out of which four have a seating capacity of 150 students each, and one has a capacity of 200 students. The college also has an air- conditioned auditorium. The central library has 15,522 books, including Indian and Foreign journals. With seating for 250 students, it also offers a digital library.
There are separate common rooms for MBBS students, with attached toilets and a cafeteria, designated for male and female students. Laboratories and a skill lab are among the facilities provided by the college.
