MES Medical College Malappuram was established in 2004 by the Muslim Educational Society. It is a private medical institution recognized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi, Medical Council of India (MCI) and Govt. of Kerala and affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS).
