  • Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery.

The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) degree program is offered by Bharat Ayurved Medical College. The Government of India has been conducting Common Entrance Examinations to admit students to the degree since 2009. The degree program complies with the Central Council of Indian Medicine’s nationwide unified syllabus. The responsibility for the academic affiliation and degree awarding rests with Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. The guidelines established by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) govern the academic curriculum. 

The graduate degree known as the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) is granted following a five-and-a-half-year study period that includes a one-year internship. Along with ayurvedic topics, the curriculum covers modern anatomy, physiology, medical concepts, pharmacology, toxicology, forensic medicine, ENT, ophthalmology, principles of surgery, and social and preventive medicine.

The eligibility criteria are as follows – 

  • The candidate must have earned a 50% overall grade in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology), and Higher Secondary (10+2) or an equivalent exam. 40% of OBC, SC, and ST pupils.
  • Admission is determined on merit based on the NEET Exam 2021 rating.
  • Applicants interested in Ayurveda who have passed 10+2/CBSE/UP BOARD or any other recognized board may apply. After getting their NEET UG results, they must upload them to the platform, with the ranks indicated according to merit.
  • The applicant must have been at least 17 years old when they were admitted.
  • All candidates must submit their NEET Rank as soon as the results are made public.
  • Any other equivalent qualification that the university has recognized is acceptable for international students.

The College Building is surrounded by lush flora, has been recently constructed, is resistant to earthquakes, and emits no pollutants. The classrooms are designed to hold up to 100 pupils at once, provide ample natural light, and include contemporary teaching tools like slides. Mikes, computers, overhead projectors, etc. The labs are furnished with glassware, chemicals, and contemporary conveniences. The first three professional museums—Physiology, Anatomy, and Maulik Siddhant—are all nicely furnished and outfitted. A well-lit dissection area where the dead bodies, or cadavers, of the college are dissected.

All specialties of outpatient medical care, including dental care, are offered by the hospital. The hospital is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday. In the patient department, there are a total of 60 beds spread out over different departments for males and females, each equipped with cots, beds, hot water, and all the necessities for clinical care. There are two types of wards: special wards and normal wards. The facility employs a sufficient number of trained and knowledgeable technicians, therapists, and medical and paramedical staff. The facility has specific therapy rooms and a panchakarma theater. Surgery and para-surgical treatments are carried out in an operating theater. The hospital has a skilled and committed nursing team as well. One ambulance is available to the hospital and college for any form of emergency. There is only one bus available at the college to carry students. 

Additionally, the institution features an audiovisual room available for use for guest lectures, interdepartmental seminars, etc. There are projectors and a computer at the college. Interactive whiteboards are installed in every classroom to facilitate intelligent learning. The pharmacy has all the necessary supplies and equipment, including pulverizers, dryers, dryer ovens, furnaces, tablets, and numerous khalvas and yantras.

A large library area with an abundance of books, periodicals, and journals is available in the college building. Boys’ and girls’ separate reading areas have been provided by the college. The hands-on instruction the pharmacy staff provides to the students is beneficial. The lecture halls have all the fixtures and furnishings required by CCIM standards, including enough ventilation, to ensure quiet lectures. 

The college features a large auditorium that can accommodate 200 individuals in seats. Additionally, staff and student-organized seminars and guest lectures are held in the auditorium. The students have the chance to display their talents at the annual sporting and cultural activities held here.

The one-acre herbal garden is located on the college grounds. The collection of over 276 spices and 1076 types of herbs, shrubs, and uncommon medicinal plants in the garden aid in their identification and practical application. The institution will fully support each student’s participation in sports, extracurricular activities, and non-academic growth. On the college campus, there is a sizable open-air playground where students can engage in various sports like badminton, tennis, volleyball, football, basketball, throw ball, cricket, and more. It also offers an indoor play area and an athletic track.

On college campuses, there are separate dorms for males and females. The boy’s hostel has 33 rooms, while the girl’s hostel has 25 rooms. There are 100 boys’ and 75 girls’  accommodated classes available. Every room has a study table with seats, cots, bookshelves, fans, wardrobes, and bathrooms. The kitchens at both hostels are designed to be hygienic, where fine cuisine will be prepared and served with the greatest care. At a time, 40 students in the ladies’ hostel and 60 students in the boys’ hostel can be accommodated in the well-designed dining hall. At the hostel, only vegetarian meals will be offered. The hostel warden will be in charge of overseeing both quality and efficiency. The hostel also has a recreation room, a color television, and phone facilities. On the college/hospital campus, there is a food court where you can acquire a range of high-quality foods to choose from.
